Ingredients
- 1 bottle gourd (lauki/doodhi), cut into medium cubes
- 2 large potatoes, cut into medium cubes
- 1 cup green peas
- 2 teaspoon oil
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 2 medium onions, grated
- 2 teaspoons ginger paste
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1/2 tablespoon cumin powder
- 1 cup tomato puree
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
Method
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds and onions and sauté till lightly browned.
- Add ginger paste and ¼ cup water, mix well and cook till dry.
- Add coriander powder, cumin powder and tomato puree and mix well. Add turmeric powder and mix. Add red chilli powder, potatoes, bottle gourd and ½ cup water and mix.
- Add green peas, salt and coriander leaves. Mix well, put the lid on and cook till 2-3 whistles.
- Open the lid when the pressure reduces completely and serve hot.
