Ingredients list for Kharvas

  • 3/4 litre Colostrum (cheek)
  • 3/4 litre Milk
  • 3/4 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
  • a pinch Nutmeg powder
  • a few strands Saffron (kesar)
  • 1 1/4 cups Sugar

Method

  1. Take colostrums and milk in a bowl. Add green cardamom powder, nutmeg powder, saffron and sugar and mix well.
  2. Heat sufficient water in a steamer. Pour the mixture into a silicon container and cover with the lid. Place it in the steamer and steam at high heat for about ten to fifteen minutes.
  3. Reduce heat and steam for ten minutes or till it sets. Let it cool to room temperature and then chill in the refrigerator. Serve chilled.
