Ingredients for Khajure Recipe

  • Milk 2 cups

  • Refined Flour 1 1/4 cups

  • Sugar 1 3/4 cups

  • Refined flour (maida) 2 cups

  • Ghee 1 1/4 cups

  • Oil to deep fry


Step 1

Boil the milk in a medium sized thick-bottomed pan and let it cool completely. Sieve the refined flour. In a large bowl mix milk, semolina, sugar, refined flour, ghee and knead to a stiff dough using some more milk if needed.

Step 2

Take out small portions from the dough, each the size of a small lime and press with closed fingers to form a small oblong with impressions of the fingers.

Step 3

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry on medium heat till golden brown and crisp. Let cool completely and store in an airtight tin.
