Ingredients list for Kachche Aam ki Kadhi
- 1 1/2 Raw Mangoes peeled and cut into large pieces
- 1/2 cup Gram Flour
- 1 tablespoon Oil
- 1/4 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds (methi dana)
- 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 2-3 Spring onions with greens
- 2-3 Dried red chillies
- 10-12 Curry leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 2 tablespoons Jaggery grated
Method
- Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan, add fenugreek seeds and mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- Roughly chop spring onion bulbs with a little stem portion and add to the pan and mix well. Add dried red chillies and mix well. Roughly chop the spring onion greens and add.
- Put most of the raw mango pieces in a mixer jar with 2-3 tbsps water, grind to a smooth paste and transfer into a bowl. Add gram flour and whisk well.
- Add curry leaves to the mixture in the pan and mix well.
- Add turmeric powder, salt and 1½ cups water to the raw mango-gram flour mixture and whisk well.
- Add gram flour batter to the pan and mix well. Add the remaining raw mango pieces and mix well.
- Add red chilli powder and mix well. Add jaggery and mix well. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring at regular intervals.
- Serve hot.
