Ingredients list for Jalapeno Poppers
- 10-12 Jalapenos
- 50 grams Mozzarella cheese grated
- 50 grams Cheddar cheese grated
- 2-3 tablespoons Cream cheese
- to taste Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Crushed black peppercorns
- 1/4 cup Milk
- 1/2 cup Refined flour (maida)
- 100 grams Bread crumbs
- for deep-frying Oil
Method
- Cut some of the jalapenos into medium pieces, deseed and reserve some. Finely chop the remaining pieces. Slit the remaining whole jalapenos and deseed.
- Boil water in a pan and blanch slit jalapenos for a minute. Transfer in chilled water immediately. Remove and pat dry them.
- Combine mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, chopped jalapenos, salt and crushed peppercorns in a bowl and mix well.
- Pour milk in a bowl. Spread the flour and breadcrumbs on different plates.
- Stuff the jalapeno pieces and blanched jalapenos with the prepared cheese mixture.
- Dip the prepared jalapenos in milk and coat in flour. Dip again in milk and coat with breadcrumbs. Refrigerate for sometime.
- Add salt to the flour and mix. Repeat the above process one more time and refrigerate again.
- Heat sufficient oil in a pan. Deep-fry the jalapeno poppers till golden. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve hot with roasted tomato salsa.
