Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Guchchi Pulao Recipe

  • Gucchi soaked morrel (guchchi) 10

  • Basmati Rice 8-10

  • Basmati rice soaked 1 1/2 cups

  • Butter 2 tablespoon

  • Onions 2 medium

  • Bay leaf 1

  • Black peppercorns 8-10

  • Vegetable stock 2 cups

  • Milk 1 cup

  • Salt to taste


Step 1

Heat butter in a deep non stick pan. Slice onions and add and sauté for 1 minute.

Step 2

Add bay leaf, black peppercorns and mix. Quarter button mushrooms and add and sauté for 2-3 minutes.

Step 3

Slice the guchchi and add. Drain and add rice and mix.

Step 4

Add vegetable stock, milk and salt and mix well. Cook till rice is done. Serve hot.
