Ingredients list for Gond ki Raab

  • 4 tablespoons Edible gum crystals (gond) broken into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee
  • ½ cup Castor sugar (caster sugar)
  • ¼ cup Desiccated coconut
  • 2 tablespoons Almonds
  • 2 tablespoons Cashewnuts


  1. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add edible gum crystals and let them pop.
  2. Add 2-3 cups water and stir continuously till the mixture thickens.
  3. Add sugar and mix well till the sugar melts. Add desiccated coconut, keeping aside a little for garnish, and mix well. Simmer for a minute. Add almonds and half the cashewnuts and mix well.
  4. Transfer gond ki raab into a serving bowl, garnish with remaining cashewnuts and some desiccated coconut and serve hot.
