Ingredients list for French Toast Pudding

  • 1 medium Bread loaf uncut
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Melted butter
  • to sprinkle Cinnamon powder
  • ½ cup Castor sugar (caster sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
  • 4 Eggs
  • ¼ cup Raisins
  • for dusting Icing sugar


  1. Preheat oven at 180° C.
  2. Cut the bread loaf into large cubes, place in a baking tray, drizzle butter and sprinkle cinnamon powder and toast in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Heat milk in a non-stick pan and bring to a boil.
  4. Remove from heat, add castor sugar and vanilla essence and mix.
  5. Add eggs, one at time, and whisk well. Strain into a bowl.
  6. Spread the toasted bread cubes in a glass baking dish. Pour the milk-egg mixture over, sprinkle raisins and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Dust with icing sugar and serve.
