Ingredients list for Dates and Anjeer Modak

  • 1 cup Dates chopped
  • 3/4 cup Dried figs chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Pistachios
  • 2 tablespoons Raisins
  • 1/4 cup Almonds
  • 2 tablespoons Dried coconut ( khopra) grated
  • 2 tablespoons Poppy seeds (khuskhus/posto)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder

Method

  1. Put pistachios, raisins and almonds in a food processor and process to a coarse powder. Add dried coconut, poppy seeds and green cardamom powder and process to a coarse paste.
  2. Transfer the coarse paste into a large bowl and mix. Take a portion of the mixture and stuff into a modak mould, gently press and demould. *
  3. Arrange the dates and anjeer modaks on a serving plate and serve.
