By Sanjeev Kapoor 09 Dec 2014 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Guavas, Yogurt Cuisine Uttar Pradesh Course Main Course Vegetarian Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Dahiwale Amrud Guavas 3/4 cup Yogurt 1 tablespoon Coriander powder 1/3 teaspoon Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1 1/2 teaspoons Dry mango powder (amchur) 4 tablespoons Ghee 4 Green chillies chopped 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon Fennel seeds (saunf) a pinch Asafoetida 2 medium Tomatoes chopped to taste Salt 1/3 teaspoon Garam masala powder 1 1/2 tablespoons Lemon juice 1/2 cup Sugar Method Deseed and cut guavas into small pieces. Whisk yogurt with the powdered spices except garam masala powder. Heat ghee, add green chillies, cumin seeds, fennel seeds followed by asafoetida and stir. Add whisked yogurt, tomatoes, salt and stir for a while. Add three fourth cup of water and let it boil. Add guava and let the gravy boil. Lower heat, cover and cook stirring occasionally. When guavas are cooked, add garam masala powder and cook for a further three to four minutes. Sprinkle lemon juice and sugar and stir. Serve hot.
