Ingredients list for Cornflakes French Toast-Cook Smart
- 2 cups Cornflakes
- 4 Brown bread slices
- 8 Eggs
- 4 tablespoons Sugar
- for shallow frying Oil
- 8 Ripe bananas
- 3 tablespoons Butter
Method
- Separate egg whites from the yolks and put them in two separate bowls. Add 3 tablespoons sugar to the egg whites and beat well.
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan.
- Peel and cut bananas into roundels.
- Heat butter in another non-stick pan. Add banana roundels and remaining sugar and cook till the bananas caramelize.
- Crush cornflakes and spread on a plate.
- Dip brown bread slices, one by one, in the beaten egg whites and coat with the cornflakes. Place in the oil and shallow-fry, turning sides, till evenly golden and crisp on both sides.
- Cut French toasts into triangles and serve immediately with the caramelized bananas.
