Ingredients list for Corn And Pumpkin Pulao

  • 1/2 cup Corn Kernels
  • 1/4 medium Pumpkin peeled
  • 1 1/2 cups Basmati rice soaked
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 6-7 Cloves
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 7-8 Dried button red chillies (bor mirchi)
  • 2 medium Onion sliced
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1 Lemon

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non stick pan. Add cloves, cumin seeds, red chillies, onions and bay leaf. Mix well and sauté till onion turns brown. Roughly chop pumpkin into medium pieces and add along with salt. Mix well, add corn kernels and mix again.
  2. Drain soaked rice and add along with 3 cups water and mix well. Cut lemon into thick slices and add. Mix well, cover and cook on medium heat till done. Switch off heat and let it stand for 5 minutes. Serve hot.
