Ingredients list for Chocolate Modak
- 1 cup Dark chocolate chopped
- 4 tablespoons Butter
- 1/3 cup Condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
- 1 cup Khoya/mawa grated
- 2 tablespoons Walnuts finely chopped
- 1/2 cup Desiccated coconut
Method
- Heat butter in a non-stick pan, let it melt. Add chocolate and mix till it melts completely. Add condensed milk, mix and cook for a minute on low heat.
- Add vanilla essence and mix well. Add khoya and walnuts and mix. Add desiccated coconut, mix and cook till the mixture starts to leave the side of the pan.
- Take the pan off the heat and transfer into a bowl and allow the mixture to cool completely.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions. Stuff each portion into a modak mould and press gently.
- Demould and arrange the modaks on a serving plate. Garnish with walnuts and serve. Or transfer into an airtight container and refrigerator to serve when required.
- Garnish the chocolate modaks with walnuts and serve.
