Ingredients list for Chicken and Broccoli with Pepper
- 300 grams Boneless chicken cut into ½” pieces
- 1 cup Broccoli
- 1 medium Green capsicum
- to deep fry Oil 1 tablespoon +
- ½ cup Cornflour/ corn starch
- 2 Eggs
- to taste Salt
- to taste Black pepper powder
- 2 millilitres Soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon garlic
- 3 tablespoons Oyster sauce
- 2 cups Chicken stock
- ¼ teaspoon Cinnamon powder
- 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (black)
Method
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Reserve 1 tablespoon cornflour and take the remaining in a bowl. Add eggs, salt, pepper powder, 1 tablespoon soy sauce and water as required and mix well into a thick batter. Add chicken pieces and mix well. Set aside for 10 minutes
- Deep-fry chicken in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a non-stick wok. Add garlic and sauté for a minute. Add broccoli and sauté on high heat for a minute.
- Take reserved cornflour in a bowl. Add remaining soy sauce, pepper powder, salt, oyster sauce and ¼ cup stock and mix well.
- Add the prepared cornflour mixture to the wok and mix well. Add some more stock, mix well and cook for a minute.
- Add fried chicken and mix well. Add remaining stock, mix well and simmer for a minute.
- Add cinnamon powder, ¾ tablespoon sesame seeds and capsicum, mix well and simmer for a minute.
- Sprinkle remaining sesame seeds on top and serve hot
