Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Chicken Yakitori Recipe

  • Chicken breasts cut into medium-sized cubes 300 grams

  • Rice wine 1 cup

  • Soy sauce 4 tablespoons

  • Ginger grated 1 tablespoon

  • Sugar 1 teaspoon

  • Satay sticks soaked in water for an hour and drained 5-6

  • Button mushrooms halved 5

  • Red capsicum cut into ½ inch pieces 1

  • Spring onion bulbs halved 3-4

  • Oil for brushi

Method

Step 1

To make yakitori sauce, heat rice wine in a non-stick pan, add soy sauce, ginger, salt and sugar and mix well. Cook till the mixture thickens.

Step 2

Skewer onto the satay sticks in the following order: mushroom, chicken cube, 2 capsicum pieces, chicken and spring onion bulb. Similarly prepare the rest. Drizzle some of the sauce over it.

Step 3

Heat a non-stick grill pan, brush with some oil, place the prepared satay sticks on it, drizzle some more sauce on it. Cook till the grill marks appear underside, flip and drizzle some more sauce reserving some for the serving and cook on the other side for 6-7 minutes.

Step 4

Serve hot with the reserved sauce.
