Ingredients list for Cheesy Scotch Eggs
- 5 Eggs
- 6 medium Potatoes boiled and mashed
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- to taste Black pepper powder
- 2 tablespoons Refined flour (maida)
- 2 tablespoons Fresh cream
- 2 tablespoons Cheese grated
- to taste Salt
- to coat Bread crumbs
- to deep fry Oil
Method
- Boil three cups of water. Gently slide in four eggs and continue to boil for ten minutes.
- Drain, cool and shell. Take mashed potatoes in a bowl. Add Worcestershire sauce, pepper powder, refined flour, fresh cream, grated cheese and salt and mix into a soft dough.
- Take a ball of the dough and spread on your palms. Place an egg in the center and cover it on all sides with the dough.
- Beat the remaining egg well. Dip the prepared Scotch egg in it. Roll it in dried breadcrumbs.
- Repeat this process once more and gently shape it between two palms to resemble an egg.
- Similarly prepare the remaining eggs. Heat sufficient oil in a deep pan. When it is hot, slowly slide in the prepared eggs.
- Gently turn them in the hot oil till they are browned to a golden brown on all sides. Drain on absorbent paper and serve hot with a sauce of your choice.
