Ingredients list for Cheese Souffle
- 4 teaspoons Gruyere cheese base
- 4 Egg whites
- for greasing Butter
- a pinch Salt
- as required Cheese sauce
- as required Chives thin strips
- to sprinkle Crushed black peppercorns
Method
- Grease individual glass bowls with some butter and refrigerate.
- Heat some water in a non-stick deep-pan. Place a steamer and cover.
- Take egg whites in a bowl. Add salt and whisk well with an electric beater till soft and fluffy. Add Gruyere cheese base and fold in well.
- Pour this mixture into the glass bowls. Place them in the steamer, cover and steam on low heat for 5-8 minutes. Remove from steam and demould.
- Place in individual serving bowls and pour some cheese sauce over. Garnish with chive strips and sprinkle some crushed peppercorns on top.
- Serve immediately.
