Ingredients
- 1 large lettuce, torn and soaked in chilled water
- 4 medium carrots, peeled and grated
- 18-20 cherry tomatoes, halved
- 4 celery stalks, thinly sliced
- 1 cup seedless raisins
- 1 cup almonds, blanched and halved
- 4 tablespoons chironji
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds (til), roasted
- Salt to taste
- 15-20 black peppercorns, freshly ground
For dressing
- 3 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 2 teaspoon honey
- 4 tablespoons orange juice
Method
- Place all the salad vegetables, raisins, almonds, charoli and sesame seeds in a large bowl.
- Place all the dressing ingredients in a small glass jar and shake well to mix.
- Pour the dressing over the salad and toss well too mix. Serve chilled, sprinkled with salt and freshly ground peppercorns.
