Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Breakfast Juice Recipe

  • Bottle gourd (lauki/doodhi) medium 1/2

  • Carrots peeled 2 medium

  • Green apples 1/2

  • Red apple 1/2

  • Orange 1 medium

  • Spinach cleaned and stems removed 1 small bunch

  • Ginger peeled 1 inch

  • Juice of ½ lemon

  • Black salt (kala namak) to taste


Step 1

Roughly chop bottle gourd, carrots, green apple and red apple. Peel orange.

Step 2

Place the chopped vegetables, fruits, spinach leaves and ginger in a blender jar and blend well to extract the juices. Discard the solid mass.

Step 3

Add lemon juice and black salt to the juice and mix well.

Step 4

Serve immediately.
