British cuisine has always been a multicultural - a pot pourri of eclectic styles.  However Britain's culinary expertise is not new! In the past British cooking was amongst the best in the world.  Traditional British cuisine is substantial, yet simple and wholesome.

Ingredients for Bread and Butter Pudding Recipe

  • Bread Slices 12

  • Butter 1 cup

  • Cream 250 millilitres

  • Egg yolk 1

  • Eggs 2

  • Milk 1 cup

  • Sugar 1/2 cup

  • White chocolate 1/2 cup

  • Raisins as required

  • Nuts as required

Method

Step 1

Preheat the oven at 180° C. Heat plenty of water in a deep non-stick pan.

Step 2

Whisk cream and egg yolk in a bowl, add eggs and mix well.Add milk and mix well.

Step 3

Keep the bowl over the hot water, add sugar and whisk continuously. When the custard thickens remove it from the double boiler.

Step 4

Add white chocolate and whisk. Add butter and whisk well. Cut bread slices into four pieces and arrange them in the baking dish.

Step 5

Sprinkle raisins and nuts on it.Spread the custard on the bread slices.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Serve hot.
