Ingredients list for Blueberry Hearty Pies - SK Khazana
- 4 tablespoons Blueberry jam
- to garnish Fresh blueberries
- 250 grams Refined flour
- 50 grams Castor sugar
- a pinch Green cardamom powder
- 100 grams Butter
- 4 teaspoons Milk
- 1 Egg
Method
- Preheat oven to 180º C. Grease a baking tray.
- Take refined flour in a bowl, add castor sugar and cardamom powder and mix. Add butter and rub between finger tips till the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- Add milk and mix with your hand to make a dough.
- Dust flour on worktop, transfer the dough on it and roll into a not too thin square.
- Keep a heart shaped cookie cutter on it and cut out 10 equal pies.
- Keep a blob of blueberry jam on half the pies and cover with the remaining pies to make sandwiches.
- Pinch the edges of each pie with a fork to seal them.
- Break an egg into a small bowl and whisk lightly.
- Sprinkle some dry flour on the baking tray, keep the pies on it and brush them with egg. Keep the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Arrange them on a serving plate, dust some icing sugar over them and decorate with fresh blueberries. Serve.
