Ingredients
- 4 large potatoes, boiled, peeled and cubed
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 8-10 dried red chillies, seeded
- 1 lemon-sized ball tamarind
- 3 tablespoons coconut oil
- Salt to taste
Method
- Lightly roast and grind red chillies with tamarind and a little water to a fine paste.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and sauté the onions till light brown.
- Add the ground paste and sauté for two to three minutes. Add the potato pieces and mix well. Add one cup of water and salt and simmer on low heat till a thick gravy is formed.
- Serve hot with puris or chapattis.
