Ingredients list for Baklava - SK Khazana
- 1 cup Butter melted
- 5-6 Filo pastry sheets
- 1 cup + to garnish Pistachios blanched, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup + to garnish Walnuts chopped
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 Lemon
Method
- Preheat oven to 180º C.
- Grease an oven-proof dish with melted butter, place the filo sheet inside, brush it with melted butter.
- Sprinkle pistachios evenly and drizzle some butter. Place another filo sheet and brush with melted butter over it. Sprinkle walnuts on the filo sheet and drizzle some butter. Place another sheet on top and repeat the process till all the sheets and nuts are used up. Brush butter on the top layer of filo sheet.
- Cut into diamonds, keep the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Heat sugar in a non-stick pan, add 1 cup water and a lemon slice and cook till you make a sugar syrup.
- Pour the prepared sugar syrup on the baked Baklava and let it rest for 5-7 minutes. Garnish with some pistachios and walnuts.
- Arrange the pieces on a serving platter and serve.
