Ingredients list for Baked Onion Rings
- 2 large Onions cut into thick roundels, layers separated and soak
- ¾ cup Quinoa
- ¾ cup Refined flour (maida)
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 1 teaspoon Mixed herbs
- 1 teaspoon Mustard paste
- 1 teaspoon Onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- to taste Crushed black peppercorns
- to taste Salt
- ¼ cup Bread crumbs fresh
Method
- Preheat oven to 180º C.
- Dry roast quinoa in a non-stick pan till golden and crisp.
- Put flour, paprika, mixed herbs, mustard paste, onion powder, garlic powder, crushed peppercorns and salt in a bowl. Add some water and whisk well to make a semi-thick batter.
- Coarsely grind the roasted quinoa and spread on a plate. Add breadcrumbs and salt and mix well.
- Pat dry soaked onion rings on an absorbent paper.
- Dip each onion ring in batter, coat with quinoa mixture and place on a baking tray.
- Place the baking tray in preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- Serve hot.
