Ingredients list for Anjeer Gosht
- 15 Dried figs soaked
- 600 grams Boneless mutton cut into 1 inch pieces
- 4 tablespoons Oil
- 1 inch piece Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Caraway seeds (shahi jeera)
- 3 Dried red chillies broken
- 2 large Onions finely chopped
- 2 inch piece Ginger chopped
- 2 Green chillies finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons Coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1/4 cup Cashewnut powder
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- 1/2 cup Yogurt
- 2 tablespoons Fresh cream optional
Method
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add cinnamon, caraway seeds, dried red chillies and onions and saute. Drain and roughly chop figs.
- When onions soften, add ginger and mutton and mix well. Add green chillies, coriander powder, red chilli powder and mix well. Continue to saute.
- Add 1 cup water and mix. Add cashewnut powder and mix well. Add figs, salt, garam masala powder and mix well.Add yogurt and mix.
- Cover the cooker with the lid and cook under pressure till 2-3 whistles are given out. Reduce heat and cook for ½ hour. Once done you can add cream if you so wish. Serve hot.
