Ingredients for Almond Crusted Prawns With Wasabi Mayo Recipe

  • Almond 1 cup

  • Prawns peeled and deveined boiled and chopped 20-25

  • Eggs beaten 2

  • Salt to taste

  • Lemon juice 3 teaspoons

  • Refined flour (maida) 2 tablespoons

  • Cornflour/ corn starch 1 tablespoon

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Wasabi sauce 1/2 teaspoon

  • Mayonnaise 3 tablespoons


Step 1

Break the eggs into a bowl, add salt, 2 tsps lemon juice, refined flour and cornflour and whisk to form a smooth and thick batter. Rest it for some time.

Step 2

Spread the almond flakes in a plate and lightly crush them. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Dip the prawns in the batter and shake the extra batter off.

Step 3

Roll in the almond flakes and place on a plate. To make the wasabi mayo, mix the wasabi, mayonnaise and remaining lemon juice well. Put the prawns, one by one, into the hot oil and deep fry on medium heat till golden and crisp.

Step 4

Drain on absorbent paper. Garnish with a fresh slit red chilli and a sprig of parsley and serve warm with the wasabi mayo in a small bowl.
