Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Wheat and Semolina Laddoos Recipe

  • Wheat flour 1 cup

  • Semolina (rawa/suji) 1/2 cup

  • Ghee 3 tablespoons

  • Cardamom powder 1 teaspoon

  • Raisins 8-10

  • Almond slivers 1 tablespoon

  • Powdered sugar 3/4 cup

Method

Step 1

Heat 1 tablespoon ghee in a kadai. Add wheat flour and roast till fragrant. Remove the kadai from heat and transfer into a bowl.

Step 2

Place the same pan back on heat, add 1 tablespoon ghee and roast semolina till fragrant.

Step 3

Add roasted semolina to the same bowl, cool to room temperature. Add cardamom powder, raisins, almonds and sugar and mix well. Add remaining ghee and mix well.

Step 4

Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into laddoos. Arrange them on a serving plate and serve.
