Ever imagined what life would be without some meetha? The gulab jamuns, barfis, pedas, laddoos, modaks, halwas…you can say let the sugar substitutes rule but not everything is possible with substitutes! One of oldest flavourings and condiments used by mankind, this ingredient is an instant provider of energy. Also available in various types, sugar is either derived from sugarcane or beetroot.

Ingredients for Sweet-Chilli Sauce Recipe

  • Sugar 1/2 cup

  • Fresh red chillies , finely chopped 1/4 cup

  • Garlic , finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Any snack of your choice to serve


Step 1

Heat a non-stick pan, add sugar, ½ cup water and fresh red chillies, mix and cook till the sugar dissolves. Add garlic, mix and simmer for 10-15 minutes.

Step 2

Remove the pan from heat and cool down to room temperature.

Step 3

Transfer into an air-tight container, store in the refrigerator and use when required.

Step 4

Serve with a snack of your choice.
