Soya Keema Matar

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup soya granules
  • 1 cup green peas
  • 1 1/2 cups skimmed milk
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 8 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 4 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves 
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Method

  1. Soak the soya granules in milk for an hour. Heat a pan, add oil and add onions. Sauté till lightly browned.
  2. Add garlic and cook for a minute. Add ginger, green chillies, coriander powder, cumin powder and red chilli powder and two tablespoons of water.
  3. Stir and cook for two minutes. Add peas and one-fourth cup of water and mix well. Cover and cook till peas are nearly done. Add soya granules along with the milk and cook till almost dry.
  4. Add coriander leaves, salt, garam masala powder and lemon juice and mix well. Serve hot.
