Ingredients 

  • 4 cups stock (chicken, mutton or vegetable)
  • 2 tablespoons rice
  • 1/2 cup green peas
  • 2 tablespoons chickpeas (kabuli chana)
  • 10 french beans
  • 2 spring onions
  • 1/4 small cabbage
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 150 grams boneless chicken
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Soak the chickpeas overnight.  Drain and cook in fresh water till done.
  2. Clean the chicken or mutton and cut into ½” dices.  Boil them in salted water till done.
  3. Wash, string the French beans and chop them finely.  Wash the green peas.  Wash the spring onions under running water and chop them fine.  Wash and finely chop the cabbage and tomatoes.
  4. Wash the rice and cook it with the stock in a deep pan on a medium heat.
  5. Add all the prepared vegetables along with the green peas and chickpeas to the rice.
  6. Cook till the rice is soft. 
  7. Add the boiled mutton or chicken dices and continue to cook till the soup is thick.
