Ingredients list for Scones - SK Khazana

  • 2 cups Refined flour
  • 3/4 Butter cut into cubes
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 2 tablespo + for sprinkling Castor sugar
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • Egg wash as required
  • Cream cheese to serve
  • Jam to serve

Method

  1. Sieve flour in a bowl, add butter, salt, baking powder and castor sugar. Mix with yourfingers till the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  2. Add milk and knead gently into a dough. Wrap it incling wrap and keep in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven at 180˚C.
  4. Place the dough between two parchment sheets and roll into a thick disc.
  5. Cut out small roundels with a cookie cutter and place them on a baking tray. Apply egg wash on top of each scone and sprinkle castor sugar over them.
  6. Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. Take the tray out of the oven.
  7. Transfer the scones onto a serving plate, halve each horizontally, apply cream cheese on base half and apply jam on top. Cover with the remaining half and serve.
