Ingredients list for Porotha

  • 2 cups Wholewheat Flour
  • to taste Ghee
  • a pinch Soda bicarbonate
  • 3/4 cup Ghee
  • 1 tablespoon Yogurt

Method

  1. Sieve the flour and salt. Leave aside a little for dusting while rolling .Add the soda bicarbonate, two tablespoons of ghee and yogurt and knead into a soft dough using sufficient water.
  2. Divide the dough into twelve equal portions and roll them into balls. Roll out each ball using flour. Apply half a tablespoon of melted ghee, fold twice to make a triangle.
  3. Roll out again to a medium thickness Heat a tawa and bake the parothas on both sides and then shallow fry in ghee till crispy brown on both the sides.
  4. Serve hot with cholar dal or any vegetable of your choice.
