History of Indian cuisine dates back to nearly 5,000-years ago when various groups and cultures interacted with India that led to a diversity of flavours and regional cuisines.
Indian cuisine comprises of a number of regional cuisines.  The diversity in soil type, climate, culture, ethnic group and occupations, these cuisines differ from each other mainly due to the use of locally available spices, herbs, vegetables and fruits. Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Multigrain Discs Recipe

  • Whole wheat flour (atta) 1/2 cup

  • Oats 1/4 cup

  • Millet flour (bajre ka atta) 1/4 cup

  • Soya flour 2 tablespoons

  • Carrot grated 1 medium

  • Salt to taste

  • Black pepper powder to taste

  • Oil 2 teaspoons


Step 1

Mix whole wheat flour, oats, bajra flour, ragi flour, soya flour, carrot, salt and black pepper powder in a bowl.

Step 2

Add one and a half cups of water and whisk well to make a smooth semi thick batter.

Step 3

Set aside to rest for half an hour.

Step 4

Heat a non-stick tawa and smear little oil on top, pour a ladleful of the batter and spread to a thick six inch diameter disc.

Step 5

Cook, turning sides, till both sides till equally golden.Serve hot.
