Marzipan

Marzipan - a smooth, sweet, and often dyed and moulded into shapes. Though a specialty for Christmas you could try and serve it to kids it will be an instant among them. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups almond powder
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ½ egg, beaten
  • Food colour as required

Method

  1. Take almond powder in a bowl. Sift in together icing sugar and powdered sugar, add lemon juice and egg, mix well and knead into a soft dough. 
  2. Divide the dough into equal portions and place each portion in an individual bowl. Add food colours to each portion and knead once again. 
  3. Divide the dough into equal portions, mould into different shapes, store in an airtight container and use as required.
