Ingredients list for Lentil And Mint Patties
- 1 cup Red lentil Split
- 1 cup Fresh Mint chopped
- 3 tbsps + for deep-frying Oil
- 3-4 cloves Garlic chopped
- 2 medium Onions chopped
- 2 tablespoons Tomato puree
- 1/3 cup Bread crumbs
- to taste Salt
- to taste Black pepper powder
- 2 tablespoons Refined flour (maida)
Method
- Soak dal in two cups of water for half an hour. Drain and set aside. Heat oil, add chopped garlic, stir for a moment and then add chopped onions and cook till soft. Add dal and cook for a few minutes.
- Add about two and half cups of water and boil dal till soft and all the liquid is absorbed. Mash dal, cool and then mix with tomato puree, chopped mint, dried breadcrumbs, salt and pepper powder.
- Divide it into small equal portions. Form them in to a round tikki shape and then coat with refined flour. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai on moderate heat. Deep-fry these patties until crisp and golden brown in colour.
- Drain on absorbent paper. Serve hot with chutney of your choice.
