How many times have we thought rice is a blessing? We use it for holy purposes but we also can pressure up a quick pulao or khichdi when hunger pangs are drumming away! This is one grain that is about 98% percent digestible. In India we are familiar with Basmati, Patna or brown rice but it is also available as Italian Rice and Glutinous Rice which is popular in Chinese and Japanese cuisines.

Ingredients for Khichdi With Gajar Recipe

  • Rice soaked 2 tablespoons

  • Split skinless green gram (moong dal soaked 2 tablespoons

  • Carrot grated 1/2 small

  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Put the rice and dal in a pan.

Step 2

Add one cup of water and salt.

Step 3

Cover and cook for three to four minutes.

Step 4

Add carrot and cover and cook till everything is completely soft.

Step 5

Mash with a hand blender, cool slightly and feed the baby.
