You can’t eat breakfast at night or dinner in the afternoon – but snacks? that you can eat anytime of the day! Ingredients for Herb Chicken And Cheese Flan Recipe

  • FOR THE PASTRY

  • Basic Short Crust Pastry 1 recipe

  • FOR FILLING

  • Boneless chicken, boiled and shredded 350 grams

  • Cheese grated 1 cup

  • Olive oil 2 tablespoons

  • Garlic chopped 4-5 cloves

  • Onion chopped 1 medium

  • Salt to taste

  • Black peppercorns crushed 1/2 teaspoon

  • Dried mixed herbs 1 teaspoon

  • White sauce 1 cup

  • Milk 1/2 cup

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 180°C/360°F/Gas Mark 4. Roll out the pastry dough to half centimeter thickness and line a nine-inch flan dish with it. Prick all over with a fork and blind bake in the preheated oven for forty minutes.

Step 2

Heat olive oil in a pan. Add garlic and sauté until brown. Add onion and sauté until brown. Add the shredded chicken and sauté for a couple of minutes.

Step 3

Add salt, crushed black peppercorns and mixed dried herbs. Mix well.

Step 4

Whisk white sauce and milk well together. Add this to the chicken mixture and cook for a minute. Pour this mixture over the baked pastry and level the top.

Step 5

Sprinkle grated cheese over and bake in the preheated oven for thirty to thirty five minutes or until cheese is golden brown. Let cool slightly. Cut into wedges and serve.
