And did you always think that eating a potato will make you fat?
Well, don’t – it is a surprising source of vitamin C and provides useful amounts of starch, thiamine and niacin and around a hundred grams will provide about eighty calories.

Ingredients for Hash Brown Potatoes Recipe

  • Potato parboiled 6 medium

  • Onion finely chopped 1 medium

  • Salt to taste

  • Black peppercorns ground coarsely 7-8

  • Nutmeg powder 1 pinch

  • Fresh parsley chopped 2 teaspoons


Step 1

Peel and grate potatoes. Heat a non-stick pan. Add onion and roast till translucent. Remove from heat. Preheat oven to 200°C.

Step 2

Mix grated potatoes and roasted onions along with salt, half teaspoon of ground peppercorns, nutmeg powder.

Step 3

Mix well and arrange potato mixture in a tray and spread evenly with hand. Sprinkle the remaining ground peppercorns.

Step 4

Bake in the preheated oven at 200°C for ten to fifteen minutes or till the mixture gets a light brown colour. Cut into portions, garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
