Ingredients
- 2 bunches spinach
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- ¼ tsp asafoetida .
- 1½ tbsps oil .
- ½ tsp cumin seeds .
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder .
- Salt to taste
- ½ tsp ver .
Method
- Remove stems, wash spinach thoroughly in running water. Drain and chop finely.
- Mix the red chilli powder in two tablespoons of water and keep aside. Mix the asafoetida in one teaspoon water and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a vessel, add the cumin seeds and allow them to crackle.
- Add the asafoetida water, red chilli water, turmeric powder, spinach, salt, one fourth cup water and mix well.
- Cook uncovered till all the water has dried and oil surfaces on top.
- Sprinkle ver and serve hot.
