Ingredients list for Gehun Ki Kheer

  • 1 cup Broken wheat
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee
  • 1 tablespoon Raisins
  • 1/4 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
  • 1 tablespoon Cashewnuts, chopped
  • 1 cup Jaggery (gur), grated
  • 3 cups Milk

Method

  1. Heat ghee in a thick bottom non stick pan, add lapsi and sauté till transluscent and fragrant.
  2. Add raisins and sauté on high heat. Add green cardamom powder and cashewnuts and mix well.
  3. Add jaggery and mix well and cook for a minute. Add 1 cup water and cook, stirring continuously for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat, add milk, gradually and keep stirring till well blended.
  5. Serve hot.
