Ingredients list for Fried Prawn Balls
- 2 cups Prawns (kolambi/jhinga) peeled and deveined
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper powder
- 1/4 cup Spring onion greens chopped
- for deep-frying Oil
- 1/4 cup Cornflour/ corn starch
- 1/2 Lemon cut into 4 wedges
- to garnish Pepper salt
Method
- Put prawns, salt, black pepper powder and spring onion greens in a food processor and process until smooth. Transfer the mixture into a small bowl.
- Heat sufficient oil in a wok.
- Add cornflour to the prawn mixture and mix well.
- Grease a tablespoon and scoop two tablespoons of the prawn mixture and shape into a ball. Gently lower the balls into the hot oil and deep-fry till lightly browned. Drain on a wire rack. Repeat this process till all the mixture is used up.
- Place the prawns balls on a serving plate and serve hot, garnished with lemon wedges and pepper salt.
