Ingredients list for French Bread Crispies

  • 1 Whole Meal French Breads
  • 2 tablespoons Tomatoes
  • 5-6 large Tomatoes
  • 5-6 cloves Garlic chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 7-8 teaspoons Black peppercorns crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Dry oregano
  • a few Fresh basil leaves

Method

  1. Cut whole meal French bread diagonally into half-inch thick slices and toast them. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Quarter the tomatoes, deseed and gently separate the flesh from the skin.
  2. Chop the flesh. Mix together olive oil, chopped tomatoes, chopped garlic, salt, crushed black peppercorns, red chilli flakes and oregano.
  3. Place the above mixture over each bread slice and grill in the preheated oven at 180°C for three to four minutes. Tear the basil leaves with hands and sprinkle over the toast and serve immediately.
