Ingredients list for Coconut Burfi

  • 1 Desiccated Coconut
  • 6 Sugar
  • 10 Cashewnuts
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Ghee

Method

  1. Grease a plate with ghee and set aside. Peel and crush cardamoms. Chop cashewnuts. Heat sugar and one cup of water on low heat to make thick syrup. Remove any scum from the syrup. Add desiccated coconut and crushed cardamoms. Mix thoroughly. Turn off heat while the mixture is still of a thick pouring consistency. Add the chopped cashewnuts.
  2. Mix thoroughly. Pour the coconut mixture onto the greased plate and quickly spread with a spatula. After a few minutes, cut into diamond-shaped pieces with a sharp knife. Store in an airtight container when cool.
