Ingredients for Chocolate Mango Puff - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Ready made puff pastry dough 200 grams

  • Ripe mangoes medium, peeled and cut into small pieces 3

  • Pistachios roughly chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Almonds roughly chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Green cardamom powder 1 teaspoon

  • Chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Refined flour for dusting

  • Egg wash as required

  • Chocolate squares as required

  • Icing sugar for dusting

Method

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180˚C.

Step 2

Take mangoes in a bowl, add pistachios, almonds, green cardamom powder and chilli powder and mix well.

Step 3

Dust the worktop with flour, place the dough on it, dust with a little flour and roll it into a square. Trim the edges to straighten them and discard the excess dough.

Step 4

Mark the sheet into 4 squares without cutting through, cut 2 diagonal sides into thin strips keeping them joint at the inside edge.

Step 5

Apply a little egg wash on one uncut side and place chocolate pieces on it. Cover it with the other uncut side and pinch the edges to seal.

Step 6

Spread the mango mixture on it leaving a little portion on all the four edges empty. Apply a little egg wash on the edges and fold over the strips from the remaining 2 squares alternatively on top creating a lattice pattern.

Step 7

Place the prepared pie on a greased baking tray and apply a little egg wash on top. Keep the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.

Step 8

Remove the tray from the oven and place the puff on the chopping board. Dust with icing sugar. Cut into bite sized pieces, place them on a serving plate and serve warm.
