Ingredients list for Chocolate Mango Puff - SK Khazana

  • 200 grams Ready made puff pastry dough
  • 3 Ripe mangoes medium, peeled and cut into small pieces
  • 1 tablespoon Pistachios roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Almonds roughly chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chilli powder
  • Refined flour for dusting
  • Egg wash as required
  • Chocolate squares as required
  • Icing sugar for dusting

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180˚C.
  2. Take mangoes in a bowl, add pistachios, almonds, green cardamom powder and chilli powder and mix well.
  3. Dust the worktop with flour, place the dough on it, dust with a little flour and roll it into a square. Trim the edges to straighten them and discard the excess dough.
  4. Mark the sheet into 4 squares without cutting through, cut 2 diagonal sides into thin strips keeping them joint at the inside edge.
  5. Apply a little egg wash on one uncut side and place chocolate pieces on it. Cover it with the other uncut side and pinch the edges to seal.
  6. Spread the mango mixture on it leaving a little portion on all the four edges empty. Apply a little egg wash on the edges and fold over the strips from the remaining 2 squares alternatively on top creating a lattice pattern.
  7. Place the prepared pie on a greased baking tray and apply a little egg wash on top. Keep the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  8. Remove the tray from the oven and place the puff on the chopping board. Dust with icing sugar. Cut into bite sized pieces, place them on a serving plate and serve warm.
