History of Indian cuisine dates back to nearly 5,000-years ago when various groups and cultures interacted with India that led to a diversity of flavours and regional cuisines.
Indian cuisine comprises of a number of regional cuisines.  The diversity in soil type, climate, culture, ethnic group and occupations, these cuisines differ from each other mainly due to the use of locally available spices, herbs, vegetables and fruits. Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Chingri Pakora Recipe

  • Shrimps 400 grams

  • Refined Flour 2 medium

  • Fresh coriander leaves a few

  • Green chillies 2-3

  • Egg 1

  • Refined flour (maida) 1/2 cup

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Soy sauce 2 teaspoons

  • Ginger paste 1 teaspoon

Method

Step 1

Clean and wash the shrimps. Pat them dry. Peel, wash and chop onions. Clean, wash and chop coriander leaves.

Step 2

Remove stems, wash and chop green chillies. Beat egg, add flour and one teaspoon of oil.

Step 3

Add the shelled shrimps, soy sauce, ginger paste, chopped onions, coriander leaves and green chillies.

Step 4

Mix well. Shape into balls or flat cutlets. Heat oil in a kadhai and deep fry the cutlets till golden brown. Drain onto an absorbent paper.

Step 5

Serve as a snack or as a side dish with lunch.
