Ingredients list for Basic Pizza Bread

  • 1 1/2 cups Refined Flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Dry Yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Oil

  1. Take one fourth cup of water and heat on Microwave HIGH (100%) for half a minute. Mix yeast with warm water and sugar and leave aside until frothy.
  2. Add frothy yeast to refined flour. Add salt and oil and mix. Add approximately half a cup of water more and knead into soft dough.
  3. Leave the dough covered with a damp cloth in a warm place for about forty five minutes or until the dough is about double in volume.
  4. Knead the dough again and keep for ten to fifteen minutes covered with a moist muslin cloth. Preheat the convection oven to 200°C.
  5. Divide pizza dough into four, roll out each portion into medium thick eight inch diametre discs. Prick them with a fork all over. Grease a baking tray with fat and place the pizza bases over it. Bake it in the preheated oven for eight minutes.
