Ingredients list for BHAJANEE CHAKLI

  • 500 grams Bhajanee chakli flour
  • to deep fry Oil for greasing +
  • 1 tablespoons White sesame seeds
  • to taste Salt
  • 2-3 tablespoons Oil , hot

Method

  1. Take bhajanee chakli flour in a large parat. Add white sesame seeds and salt. Make a well in the centre and add the hot oil and mix well. Add 1¼ cups water in batches and knead into a semi-soft dough.
  2. Divide the dough into equal portions.
  3. Grease a chakli press with some oil. Put a portion of the dough inside the chakli press till it is ¾ filled. Cover it with the lid.
  4. Press out chaklis on to a plastic sheet.
  5. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Gently slide in the chaklis a few at a time and deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper.
  6. Allow the chaklis to cool completely. Store in an air tight container and serve as required.
