Ingredients list for Acharya Khichdi

  • 1 cup Rice soaked
  • 3/3 cup Split green gram with skin soaked
  • 1/2 medium Carrot, 1/2 inch cubes
  • 1 medium Potato, 1/2 inch cubes
  • 4-5 French beans, 1/2 inch pieces
  • 2 medium Tomatoes, 1/2 inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee
  • 4 Cloves
  • 1 inch stick Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • to taste Salt

Method

  1. In a large microwave casserole, place rice, moong dal, carrot, potato, French beans, tomato, ghee, cloves, cinnamon, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin seeds, salt and four cups of water.
  2. Stir once, cover and cook on Microwave HIGH (100%) for twenty minutes. Serve hot.
