By Sanjeev Kapoor 12 Jun 2014 in Recipes Veg New Update Main Ingredients Raw bananas, Fresh coconut Cuisine Kerala Course Main Course Vegetarian Prep Time 16-20 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients 4-5 raw bananas 1/4 cup fresh coconut 4-5 dried red chillies,broken A pinch of asafoetida 2-3 tablespoons coconut oil 1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds 7-8 curry leaves 2-3 tablespoons scraped fresh coconut Method Dry roast the urad dal in a kadai till light brown in colour. Add red chillies, asafoetida and roast till fragrant. Cool completely and grind it into a powder. Place raw bananas in a bowl, add the prepared powder, salt and mix thoroughly. Heat oil in another kadai, add mustard seeds. When they begin to splutter, add the curry leaves and the banana mixture. Cook on low heat for about four to five minutes, stirring occasionally.
