By Sanjeev Kapoor 23 Feb 2016 in Recipes Veg New Update Main Ingredients Refined Flour, Semolina Cuisine Gujarati Course Desserts Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Tel Poli 2 cups Refined Flour 1 cup Semolina 2 tablespoons Oil Stuffing 2 teaspoons Raisins 3 cups Split Bengal gram (chana dal) 2 cups Powdered sugar 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder 1/2 cup Oil 4 tablespoons Ghee Method Sieve maida, add rawa, oil and sufficient water and knead into a soft smooth dough. Cover with a damp cloth, keep it aside. Wash raisins and pat them dry. Boil chana dal in six cups of water. When it is almost cooked, add the powdered sugar and green cardamom powder. Blend the mixture into a smooth paste in the mixer. Add raisins and mix it well. Divide into twelve equal portions. Make twelve equal sized balls of the dough. Stuff each dough ball with one portion of the stuffing. Take a plastic sheet, apply oil over the sheet. Roll out the stuffed balls into very thin roundels. Heat a tawa and cook the polis on medium heat applying a little oil, till light golden on both sides. Store when completely cooled. This poli can be stored for long durations.
